Most confusing was that I had some HEVC H.265 59.62fps 1920x1080 clips that caused the "Media Offline" issue and other clips in H264 30fps that worked fine. Turns out it had nothing to do with file location. I spent a couple hours reading forum posts, relinking, unlinking, clearing render caches, restarting my PC, (un)checking checkboxes in Settings, uninstalling+reinstalling previous DR versions. Be sure to use the link he provides to get the codec free from the MS Store, otherwise MS will ask you for CD$1.29. Running DR 16.2.6.005 on Win 10, solution for me was to install an HEVC codec via the Microsoft Store as described by this clever Youtuber: v=BhqPd8bWdOY (Dungeons and Diving, can't post URLs) in his vid. But, after I would do a cut, these started showing up. Prior to the cuts, the whole clip showed up fine without there being any media off line. I've attached a screen shot to show how the clips are showing up. All the edits/cuts are from the same video file. But then several show up as media off-line. So for example, I use the blade and create jump cuts (eliminating bad takes, etc.). I have relinked the full video but that doesn't solve the issue. But portion of the video show up as media offline. But, when I do edit cuts in the edit page then portions of the cuts show up as media offline and other portions do not. When I insert the video into the timeline it works fine. that I've used several times before and have edited in DaVinci previously. It's just a straight video using the Canon video M50 (cinematic mode). Update: I tried to create a compound clip out of all the edits to see if that worked (even though on some of those I needed to employ transition effects) and it still registered "media offline" on the same clips.ĭwaine Maggart wrote:So you are using a Canon Raw CR3 file? I don't see that as being supported in our Supports Codecs list. However, I also wonder if that is something that we will be stuck with having to do each time? Sometimes I'd prefer not to make a compound clip. ![]() ![]() I am trying that creating a compound clip (it's taking a while). And should that really be what we have to do to fix this? This should not be happening it seems to me. But then as I edited more, the same problem popped up. Shutting down and restarting Resolve worked. The other odd thing is that the audio works fine - just the video is red with the "Media Offline" message. And when I use the blade to make cuts, and trim or cut out sections, then sections that are left, that were there a second ago before a cut was made, register as "media offline." I have a ten minute long video that I am editing. I've only been working with Resolve for about 6 months but this has never happened until today, with the new update. Attachments IMG_5132.zip (829.I am having a similar problem with DaVinci Resolve and I've never experienced this before. With my system, no photography image format really affects its performance. I can precisely place graphics and set the rest of the PNG to transparent so for those situations I can't use JPGs. When I do use PNG's I have to use that format because it is due to their transparency features. ![]() I use PNG's all the time in DR for things like watermarks and transparent overlays, but this is the first time I have seen this problem. I typically use JPG as well, but this customer sent me PNGs and every second spent converting them is time and time is money so I hadn't planned on converting them. You could make very large JPEG's for good use in Resolve's Cropping, Dynamic Zoom etc and still have the file sizes smaller than the heavyweight PNG's. I don't bother with JPEGmini's Suite version although I have it, just use the standalone version. I process RAW photo files with Capture One 22 with JPEG's saved at the equivalent of Photoshop's 90%. I use that for everything, client photo files, online galleries, archives, the lot. That reduces the file sizes substantially with no perceptible reduction in quality. I have used JPEGmini for a couple of years now. I've used JPEG's on Resolve 17 and 18 and preferred that over PNG's simply because the files can be much smaller in MP's so less stress on the system. For that I had to use PNG's as JPEG's just would not function in the way that I needed. I tested the first version of 18 but reverted to 17.4.6 for reasons not related to your query.Īnyway, bear with me, off at a tangent: I do a lot of photo slideshows and until recently on Vegas Pro 9 through to 19. Some PNG images work but most show offline as soon as I add them to the timeline. I tried everything and finally just had to change the image to a JPG.
